FAQ with Elisheva
What does integrative wellbeing mean to you?
My personal idea of integrative well-being is focusing on an individual’s psychological, social, behavioural, and physical needs while addressing issues or actualizing oneself.
What do you want your clients to know about you and what it's like to work with you?
I am passionate about emotionally supporting individuals as they navigate the challenges and joys in their life. I want to equip people with tailored strategies to increase their wellbeing and understand what is holding them back. I place the highest priority on creating a warm and empathic environment so that my clients have the opportunity to express themselves openly and explore challenges while feeling safe and supported.
What do you think are the biggest misconceptions about therapy?
A big misconception about having therapy is that someone has to have serious psychological issues to benefit from the experience. Everyone can gain from learning new skills or having insight into the areas in which they feel stuck. In the past, I ran a program for individuals who felt like their lives were going pretty well to increase their self-esteem, and enhance their mood-management and communication skills. Many were surprised by how much they reaped from it. I compare it to strengthening psychological wellness muscles. Increased exercises in these areas can benefit everyone.
What excites you about mental health?
It’s exciting to join people on a journey of self-discovery and see their lives transformed after their ‘aha’ moments. It’s amazing to see someone who walks into the first session unhappy develop into an individual with inner confidence to achieve their goals and even feel excited about the possibilities life has to offer.
What do your clients say about you?
My clients describe me as supportive, yet goal-oriented.
What do you want to say to someone struggling with mental illness or emotional difficulty?
Talking with an outside person in a supportive environment can help you to see things differently and empower you to lead a healthy, fulfilling and well-balanced life. Whenever facing a difficult challenge, reaching out is a sign of courage, hope and resiliency. I hope you will take this chance so that we can strive together on the road to mental wellness, inner peace and actualizing yourself.
